Is Phidias Propfirm the right choice?

Phidias sells the same evaluation two ways, and the choice is not only about spreading the payment out: on the monthly subscription, the funded account's activation fee is settled separately, on the day you pass; on the one-off payment, it is included in the price. That is rare — at most of the firms in this comparison, the payment route changes the schedule of the bill, here it changes the list of line items. It is also the first reason why the headline price shown at the top of this page will not resemble the amount you will actually have paid by the time of your first payout.

On the publication of its prices there is nothing to hold against the firm: every fee announced carries a public amount, no “not published” line item, no divergence between two official pages of the site. The “≥” on this page therefore comes from us and not from the firm: our record carries neither a reset line nor a data feed line on 6 of the 7 plans. A second uncertainty lies in the price of no line at all, but in the number of times the monthly line will be charged: the subscription runs until you pass or until you cancel, and nobody — neither the firm nor this comparison — can tell you today how many months that will come to for you.

The drawdown, for its part, is of the most predictable type in the sector: it is fixed at the close of the session and calculated on profits actually banked. Unrealised profit that was never taken does not move your liquidation threshold, and that threshold does not shift by a dollar while you trade. It is the exact opposite of intraday trailing, which follows every high of your equity curve, including the ones the market took back from you within the minute.

Strengths

  • The whole of the pricing carries a published figure — no fee announced without an amount, no contradiction between two pages of the site. The “≥” on this page is therefore ours: our record carries neither a reset line nor a data feed line on 6 of the 7 plans.
  • The drawdown is fixed at the end of the session and on realised profits: your liquidation threshold is a fixed number, known in advance, for the whole trading day.
  • The activation fee is explicitly presented as one-off and not recurring, and it disappears entirely if the evaluation is paid for in a single payment.
  • Failing does not force you to buy another evaluation: resets are unlimited, billed far below one month's subscription, and a free automatic reset exists for whoever is willing to wait.
  • No daily loss limit is published for the evaluation: the maximum loss limit is what liquidates, and nothing else closes the session on your behalf.

Watch out for

  • The monthly subscription leaves the cost open-ended: the bill is a function of how long you take to pass, and nothing in the pricing caps that time.
  • The activation fee is due only on the subscription route, and it lands at the precise moment you succeed: reasoning on the monthly price alone means underestimating the move to a funded account.
  • The promo code has no announced end date and its discount is not of the same order depending on the payment route — the “base” price is therefore a reference price more than a price paid, and the two plans cannot be compared on the percentage advertised.
  • The market depth module is priced in euros on the rules page while the rest of the grid is in dollars: the conversion, and its movement, are left to you.
  • The evaluation imposes no consistency rule — a real advantage — but the funded account does apply one: the constraint does not disappear, it moves past the pass, to the point where it governs payouts. The table below gives both values side by side.

Who it suits

This model suits the intraday trader who has a realistic idea of how long they take to pass an evaluation, who works from the chart without depending on the order book, and for whom a liquidation threshold that holds still during the session is worth more than a low headline price. It suits poorly anyone who trades little, irregularly, or who goes through blank months: the subscription keeps running while nothing happens, and that is exactly the profile for which the one-off payment route — or a firm that bills once — comes out cheaper. The tipping point between the two cannot be read off the advertised price, it is calculated in months of evaluation: put in your own assumptions before choosing how you pay, since that choice is made at the moment of purchase.

What are the trading rules at Phidias Propfirm?

The drawdown. The calculation is fixed at the close of the session and does not move again until the next day: while you trade, your liquidation threshold is a fixed number, known in advance. It is recalculated only at the end of the day, and only on profits actually banked — a trade deep in unrealised profit that ends at zero leaves no trace on your room to manoeuvre. The counterpart, often misunderstood, is that the cushion does not grow with your gains: it moves with them. Every new closing high lifts the level that liquidates you by the same amount, so that the distance separating you from it stays identical from the first day of the evaluation to the last. Making progress does not buy you room, it raises the ground under your feet.

The subscription and the reset. The evaluation price is charged every month until you pass or you cancel: it is the only line of the bill you keep a hand on, and cancelling is a real lever, not an administrative formality. After a breach there are two ways out — pay for a reset, or wait for the automatic reset. The word “free” deserves close reading on a subscription: the waiting period is set on the month, so waiting means letting a whole charge go through, when the paid reset costs only a fraction of one. For a subscriber, paying for the reset is almost always the cheaper way out, and the trade-off exists only on this plan: it is the charge running in the background that makes waiting expensive, not the reset.

The two ways to buy, and activation. Activation of the CASH account is billed once, on the move to a funded account, and is not recurring — but it is due only on the subscription route, the one-off payment already containing it. The arithmetic is therefore this: on one side the monthly fee multiplied by the number of months you take, plus activation; on the other a fixed price, activation included. The tipping point is expressed in months, and it moves as soon as the promo code comes into play, since the discount is not of the same order depending on the route chosen — comparing the two plans on the percentage advertised therefore makes no sense. The cost table on this page is calculated before any promo, on a reference scenario identical for every firm on the site: if your horizon is longer or shorter, redo it on your own assumptions, and see in passing what those activation fees cover elsewhere in the sector.

Once funded. The funded account keeps the same end-of-day drawdown, which avoids a change of rules at the worst possible moment — many firms switch to trailing at this stage, this one does not. The payout split is announced, but that is not where to look: payouts run on a fixed cap per request, and it is the amount of that cap that is missing. The table below gives the wait before the first payout, the minimum withdrawal and the funded account's consistency rule; the figure that bounds each payout from above is to be asked of the firm before you commit. Finally, the basic data feed is included at no extra charge: only market depth is a paid module, monthly, billed during the evaluation as well as once funded. That fee is conditional — it concerns only those who trade from the order book, so it is not added to the total by default, but it is the one line item whose bill lengthens with time on both sides of the finish line.

Lines marked "optional" are real fees but conditional — they fall due only if the stated condition applies to you. Their amount is shown in brackets and enters no total on this site: neither the cost to first payout above, nor the calculator. Adding them would inflate the invoice for the majority of traders, who never pay them.
